Up until now if you were unable

to visit my office in person,

your choice was to have a

session over the telephone.

As you may know, this is a

modality I have always been

very comfortable with, and

believe that the efficacy rate

is nearly as high as that of

face-to-face sessions. If

you’ve had phone sessions

with me, I’m certain you

think so too.

As a young woman, when I was

in psychotherapy treatment,

I broke my ankle in a silly

boating accident, ended up

with a cast all the way up my

leg and crutches for three

months. My therapist had recommended telephone

sessions since driving was not

an option, and I have since

been converted to the

wonders of technology

and therapy.

Now, I have discovered an

added dimension that I have

had a great deal of success

with, making up the missing

visual ingredient with a

camera that’s attached to

a pc or mac.

It’s great – we can see each

other, talk naturally, even do

EMDR or Brainspotting online.

As an alternate to office

visits, I believe this to be

very powerful.

Don't worry about cost, here’s

the beauty of it. The telephone

call is absolutely free over the internet. If you have a computer, it either comes with a built-in camera (camcord) or you can

add one.

The free software to download is from www.oovoo.com

if you have a pc or from www.skype.com if you have apple.

If you need a camera, I

recommend Microsoft LifeCam

VX-3000,that’s the one I use.

Its sharp clear image and

easy installation is a pleasure.

Once you’ve loaded your

camera and software, just

register, practice using your

new software, then we’ll

still have to set up an

or phone.
