MEET DR. RITA

BIGEL-CASHER, LCSW, PhD

She is a Psychotherapist, Life Coach and Author. Her work with upscale Individuals and Couples can be obtained Remotely–no matter where you live, by Video Counseling or Telephone.

 

Dr. Bigel-Casher is a Senior Clinician who deals with all types of problems. People say that she is a therapist's therapist. Her training is as a Trauma Specialist and Marriage/ Family Therapist. She is an expert in Relationship Therapy, Hypnosis, CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing) Trauma/Loss Therapy. Her orientation is Dynamic Body/Mind, and Self-Relational Solution-Focus, that is a camera lens through which the deep work of understanding personal issues, and healing gets results.

 

Overriding Focus: Dr. Bigel-Casher's strength and warmth allows you to comfortably resolve relationship issues—with self and others. She is a coach for better living, and utilizes a wide range of healing models personally tailored to meet the needs of any given client. Dr. Rita has had advanced training in a number of therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, Psychodynamic Theory, Somatic Experiencing, Group Therapy, Writing from the Heart, Homework Assignments, Ericksonian Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy, Couple Sex Therapy, and Biofeedback.

 

Credentials: LCSW Licensed Clinical Social Work. PhD in Industrial Psychology.

Memberships: American Red Cross Mental Health Disaster Team (ARC/GNY), American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), New York Milton H. Erickson Society for Psychotherapy and Hypnosis (NYSEPH), EMDR International Society (EMDRIA), National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and The Author's Guild. Dr. Bigel-Casher has taught at Hunter College School of Social Work, The Postgraduate Center for Mental Health and was Director of in-house treatment for family violence at Scarsdale Family Counseling Service.

Based on her work with thousands of women and men over the years, Dr. Bigel-Casher's first book, Bride’s Guide to Emotional Survival guides brides, grooms, and their families through the perilous months of wedding planning and relationship building. Exploring elements of healthy relationships and examining some of the emotional hot spots that lead up to a wedding, this book examines the roller coaster emotions confronting brides as they prepare for their new life. The newly revised fourth edition of Bride's Guide to Emotional Survival is now available through this website and national retailers. Dr. Rita’s newest E-book, How to Screw Up Your Marriage or Save It is a tongue in cheek, very brief self-help book that will give you dozens of aha-moments.
